REVERSE OSMOSIS

Reverse osmosis is a desalination process that uses membrane technology.

This type of process is used to desalinate seawater or brackish water, and plays a key role in supplying drinking water to regions that lack sufficient natural resources, under the combined effect of demographics and geographical constraints.

The efficiency and cost effectiveness of these technologies depend largely on preliminary treatments applied to the raw water as a function of its characteristics: temperature, salinity, degree of pollution and plankton density.

Degrémont now has more than 250 desalination plants in operation, and abundant experience of these preliminary treatments, ensuring the best treatment (filtration on a single layer, filtration on dual layer, membrane filtration or high-speed flotation) prior to desalination, depending on the characteristics of the water obtained.

Degrémont has four different specialties:·

Drinking water production
Reverse Osmosis
Treatment of wastewater
Sludge treatment
